Choose the currencies you sell in
You can invoice customers in UGX, KES, TZS or USD once you tick that currency under Currencies you sell in.
Your home currency is the one you chose when you signed up. It is always on and cannot be turned off.
Turn a currency on
Section titled “Turn a currency on”- Go to Settings › Business details.
- Find Currencies you sell in. Your home currency is the first row, marked (home currency, always on).
- Tick each other currency you want to sell in.
- Choose Save currencies.
Turning a currency off does not change invoices already made in it.
Before you sell in another currency
Section titled “Before you sell in another currency”Save the Conversion fee on each payment connection. It is what the provider takes to change a payment in another currency. See Connect MoMo, Airtel and cards.
Check Works in on each payment connection too. Only the countries you leave ticked are offered to customers.
How prices work in each currency
Section titled “How prices work in each currency”Each product and each domain ending shows a price for every currency you sell in:
| What the row says | What it means |
|---|---|
| (home) | Your home price, as you set it |
| · yours | A price you typed for that currency |
| · worked out today | Taji converted your home price at today’s rate |
| Not sold in TZS | You do not sell in that currency |
A worked-out price follows the rate each day until an invoice fixes it. Prices you type stay as you typed them.
To type your own price, choose Set a UGX price (the button names the currency). To go back, choose Use the worked-out price.
A customer’s billing currency
Section titled “A customer’s billing currency”Each customer has one Billing currency. Only currencies you sell in are offered. You can change it until their first invoice is made. After that it is fixed, because invoices never change currency. See Add customers and their billing currency.
Invoices in another currency
Section titled “Invoices in another currency”An invoice in another currency also shows what it is worth in your home currency:
- Worth at home when made: its value at the rate on the day it was made.
- Paid: what was paid, in your home currency.
- Currency gain or loss: the difference.
