Connect MoMo, Airtel and cards
Customers can pay you by MoMo once your MTN MoMo and Airtel Money card on Payment gateways says Live. Money goes straight to your own merchant accounts. Taji never holds your customers’ money.
Only the account owner can change payment gateways. Other staff see the page but cannot change it.
Connect MTN MoMo and Airtel Money
Section titled “Connect MTN MoMo and Airtel Money”- Go to Settings › Payment gateways.
- On the MTN MoMo and Airtel Money card, choose Connect.
- Under Supplier, choose your provider: Paypack, pawaPay or InTouchPay.
- Enter the keys your provider gave you. The fields change with the provider, for example Client ID and Client secret for Paypack.
- Enter the Code from your authenticator app. It is asked every time a key is saved.
- Choose Connect. Taji checks the keys with the provider before it saves them.
- Choose Send a RWF 100 test. Enter the phone that should approve the test and choose Send the test.
- Approve the RWF 100 payment on that phone. The card updates when MoMo answers.
Keep Offer MoMo first at checkout on. Most of your customers pay this way.
Connect card payments
Section titled “Connect card payments”Card payments go through your own Flutterwave account. Customers type their card on Flutterwave’s own page, so card numbers never reach Taji.
- On the Card payments card, choose Connect.
- Enter your Secret key, Encryption key and Webhook secret hash from your Flutterwave dashboard.
- Choose Connect.
- Choose Check the keys. This asks Flutterwave whether it accepts your keys. No money moves.
- Under Payment notifications, copy the card payments address. Paste it into your Flutterwave dashboard’s webhook settings, with the same secret hash.
Connect M-Pesa
Section titled “Connect M-Pesa”M-Pesa goes into your own Paybill or Till through Daraja. It is used for payments in KES only.
- On the M-Pesa card, choose Connect.
- Enter your Consumer key, Consumer secret, Passkey and Shortcode, then choose the Shortcode type: Paybill or Till.
- Choose Connect, then send the test the card offers.
Add a bank account for deposits
Section titled “Add a bank account for deposits”- On the Bank deposit card, choose Add a bank account.
- Fill in Account name, Bank, Account number and the currency, then choose Save account.
Customers pay at the bank and upload the slip. Finance approves each slip before the invoice is marked paid.
Tell each provider where to send payment news
Section titled “Tell each provider where to send payment news”Under Payment notifications, choose Copy beside each address and give it to that provider. The row shows Last notification received, so you can see that payments are reaching Taji. Open the gateway log shows every notification.
The payments order
Section titled “The payments order”If you connect more than one provider of a kind, Payments order sets which one takes each payment. Use the arrows, then choose Save the order. A payment moves to the next provider only when the one before it definitely sent nothing, so nobody is asked to pay twice.
On each card
Section titled “On each card”- Takes new payments: turn a provider off without removing it. Payments already started still settle.
- Payment fee: what the provider takes from each payment. Choose Change fee to correct it. Taji counts it in your price floor.
- Conversion fee: what the provider takes to change a payment in another currency. Save it before you sell in another currency.
- Works in: the countries and networks the provider covers. Untick a country and choose Save countries to stop offering it there.
- Replace keys: enter new keys when your provider gives you new ones.
Taji never asks for a MoMo PIN. Customers approve every payment on their own phone.
If something goes wrong
Section titled “If something goes wrong”If a card says Failing, choose Replace keys and enter fresh keys from your provider. If that does not help, contact Taji support at help@gettaji.com or +250782009639.
